Welcome to the Delta County Clerk's Vital Records online ordering system. Requests will be processed Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The Delta County Clerk's Office processes orders within 2 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, once all information is available.
REQUESTING A BIRTH, DEATH, OR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
Birth Certificates
- Certified copies of Birth Certificates can be obtained from the county in which the birth took place.
- Under Michigan Law, certified copies of Birth Certificates are restricted documents and can only be requested by individuals who are eligible to receive them. Eligible persons include:
- The individual subject of the record.
- The parent(s) named on the record.
- An heir of the individual who is the subject of the record (death record required).
- A Legal Guardian of the individual who is subject of the record (court-documented guardianship papers required). - Government-issued identification is required for all requests unless the record is over 110 years old. Other identification may be used upon approval from the County Clerk's Office.
- Birth Records for newborn children are not immediately available. Please allow at least 10 days from date of birth for the hospitals to get the records to our office.
Marriage Certificates
- Certified copies of Marriage Licenses can be obtained from the county in which the parties resided at the time of marriage.
- Records are available from 1867 and there are no restrictions on who can obtain a copy.
Death Certificates
- Certified copies of Death Certificates can be obtained from the county in which the individual's death occurred.
- Records are available from 1867 and there are no restrictions on who can obtain a copy.
